Our Water Treatment Plant team hosts numerous tours each year, and the last week of January they welcomed 100 Greenville, N.C. Fire/Rescue personnel for a series of 18 special visits over three days. 2/5 @9:20 PM - Power has been restored along Dickinson Avenue. 2/5 @ 9:15 PM - Our crews are working to restore power safely and quickly. The outage was caused by a grounded wire. ❗️ WATER CUSTOMERS ❗️ Greenville Utilities is experiencing higher than normal water demand due to a number of weather-related water leaks, primarily at residential homes. ✅ We ask that you check your plumbing for any possible leaks that may have occurred due to the extreme cold. 🌡️ Now that temperatures are rising and warm air is moving through crawl spaces, these broken pipes are starting to gush water and placing a huge demand on GUC’s water system. 💙 A heartfelt thank you to our employees and customers for really coming through! We say all the time that we have the best customers, and it truly showed with how well you all responded to our request to cut back a little on energy usage these past 24 hours. It’s one thing for us to see our crews out there battling the weather to keep the utilities going.
