47 minutes 16 seconds ago This week is a scorcher! We’ll share summer energy saving tips throughout the week - but encourage you to visit our website for more tips. http://bit.ly/2KneIkh Thermostat Tip: Keep in mind how hard your AC must work to keep your home cool while outside temps rise. See graphic. To help out your system (and your wallet), set your thermostat on the highest comfortable setting. We recommend 78 degrees or higher. Remember, every degree above 78 will save you about 4% in cooling costs. If you’re not going to be home for an extended period, raise your thermostat to 85-88 degrees. 2 days 16 hours ago >>> UPDATE 6/23: One tank was successfully moved over the weekend but took longer than expected. A new plan to move the second tank is being worked out with DOT. Stay tuned. 📣 TRAFFIC ALERT 6/21 & 6/22 - Our two new liquified natural gas cryogenic tanks, measuring 13 feet in diameter and 116 feet long, have arrived. They will be offloaded from a train and transported via truck this weekend. The tanks are for our Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Plant expansion. They are being slowly lifted off the rail car today, and the first tank is anticipated to be transported on Saturday afternoon along US Highway 264 at about 3 mph, eventually stopping at the LNG plant on Old Pactolus Road. The second tank is anticipated to be transported Sunday afternoon. This will require some closing of lanes and rerouting of traffic during the move, which is done in coordination with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The roads impacted will be Gum Road, NC Highways 11 and 33, Old Pactolus Road, and the intersection of Greenville Boulevard and US Highway 264. 4 days 16 hours ago We are thankful for our continued partnerships with Pitt County Senior Center and Greenville Housing Authority - especially during the hot summer months. The Water Treatment Plant will be using chlorine rather than chloramines during this time. This brief, scheduled change in disinfectant is a standard water treatment practice to keep water mains clean and free of potentially harmful bacteria throughout the year.
